Special Health Care Costs Report: Slash Your Medical Expenses by 50% and More Overseas

Expensive health care costs in the States bankrupt more than a million people a year. But look in the right places beyond our borders, and you can slash your health care costs by as much as 50%. Where?

Health Care Costs In Mexico

In Mexico you can have your teeth cleaned for about $45. A cap? That’ll run you less than $230. Stateside, by comparison, it’s not unusual to pay $75 or more for a cleaning and as much as $1,000 for a cap.

Health Care Costs In Panama

In Panama an organization called Pana-Health caters to “medical tourists.” It has more than 100 member physicians in a wide range of fields--dermatology, plastic surgery, dentistry, and more. These physicians received their specialist training abroad, mostly in the U.S., where many are board certified. You can typically expect to shave at least a third--sometimes much more--off the U.S. cost of treatments. For example, one patient went for cataract surgery that would have cost $5,000 to $6,000 per eye in the U.S. In Panama? It was just $2,500.

Health Care Costs in Thailand

Thailand is another destination where top-notch health care costs are half--or less--than what you’d expect to pay for comparable health care Stateside. Bumrungrad Hospital in the center of Bangkok, for instance, treats a million patients a year--400,000 from overseas. They come seeking everything from allergy to fertility to orthopedic care. And it’s soup-to-nuts pampering the whole time.
