Dear International Living Reader,

Not too long ago, I read an International Living Postcard about villas being built in Honduras (see "A Hot Buy In Honduras" ) for $65,000. With IL's help on the ground, I was soon in on my way to check them out.

What did I find when I got there? A wonderful hotel with villas set on 70 hectares of grounds and a beach that stretches unobstructed for miles in either direction. I found the villas to be well-constructed and decorated and the entire operation well managed. Villa owners have full use of the hotel facilities and, for $25 a day, can arrange an "all-inclusive" stay, including dining and drinks in the hotel's excellent restaurant. Among other things, there are swimming pools, a theater, and a disco, and the hotel will soon have a boat to take guests out to see the world's second-longest barrier reef. Nearby are white-water rafting and canopy tours.

Did I buy? You bet I did. The contract was signed there and then for a three-bedroom villa that will be completed in time for the Easter holidays. The villa can be rented out by the hotel to produce an income when I'm not there. Best of all is that I do not have to worry about looking after it or cutting the grass.
