Location: San Miguel de Allende is in Mexico's central mountain plain in the state of Guanajuato, about halfway between the cities of Léon and Quéretaro. Mexico City is four hours south. It is a 10-hour drive to San Miguel from Laredo.
Population: Approximately 120,000--about 6,000 to 8,000 of which are foreigners, depending on snowbird season.
