“While foreigners can’t own real estate directly in Romania, setting up a Romanian corporation to hold the property is straightforward. And the corporation can be owned 100% by a foreigner.”

I’ve been to enough property auctions in Uruguay now to know a good deal when I see one. I also learned that just because the location is good doesn’t mean the property will be…and that if an area is generally run-down, it doesn’t mean you won’t find high-quality properties there.

A little-known law in Panama means that you can get financing on your Panama residence at very low interest rates.
The law, due to expire at the end of the year, qualifies buyers of certain homes for mortgage interest rates of 2% to 3%.
