VIVA MEXICO!
IL Mexico Office representative,presented a basic overview to living and investing South of the Rio Grande. He raved about the lifestyle options, explained the ins and outs of ownership options, and described the lower cost of living he enjoys in Mexico. Also presenting deals in Vancouver were some top developers.
Liberty Cove is a 46,500-acre property with 15 miles of coastline along the Sea of Cortez. This amazing project boasts a Monte Carlo style Formula One racetrack and a marina accommodating the largest yachts -- and even cruise ships. It's the most impressive private development in Mexico… and they announced here that lot sales and condos will be offered to the public soon. Attendees will be first in line, no doubt. The development is within drive time of Tucson, Phoenix, and San Diego. Because of the ease of access this could become the largest retirement and vacation community for Americans ever -- boasting 60,000 homes!
Dan also told attendees about one of the hottest up-and-coming spots in Mexico, Yucatan. You can buy a colonial house in the capital city, Merida, for as little as $30,000. You can own a grand colonial mansion for under $100,000. Plus you're less than a half an hour from the Gulf of Mexico beaches in Progresso. There you can buy lots in a beautiful new oceanfront development for as little as $85,000.

I've heard that Vancouver is the "coolest" city in Canada. I don't know. But flying in last night, I was impressed with the sight of the bustling metropolis from the window of a 737. Vancouver is surrounded by water on three sides and overlooked by the Coast Range, mountains ascending sharply from the city to summits of over 1,500 meters.
Maybe it's considered "cool" because it boasts the mildest climate in Canada. I was knocked out by the sparkling visage of Vancouver. In today's bright sun this place really shines. Behind the skyscrapers mountains rise to meet blue skies dotted with wisps of clouds. The handsome people on the streets seem warm and friendly.
The weather is perfect, but the only chance I've had to see it so far was wandering downtown to buy some essential toiletries so I could clean up before the conference. One of the downsides to globetrotting is the likelihood that an airline will send your bags on a tour without you. That little problem offered me my only excuse for a city stroll.
I hope to explore more when the Expo closes. But I'm focused on the possibilities indoors. It looks like millions of dollars in real estate deals will be inked here. The deals are too good to pass up. I'll tell you about a few of them in a minute.
I'm privy to some inside information about what will be presented here and I'm pretty sure that there's something here for nearly every IL reader--including you! Undoubtedly, you could learn at least one secret that could pay for itself many times over. Perhaps even something that could change your life.
One really great thing is that it doesn't take millions of dollars to participate in these opportunities. EXPLORING OPPORTUNITIES IN ARGENTINA: GOLFING IN WINE COUNTRY!
Paul Reynold's presentation on Argentinean real estate drew a large audience. And no wonder… I saw one deal where for only $40,000 (US) you could own a 2.2-acre lot in a new golf course community. But even better, the development is part of an existing vineyard and winery. Argentina has earned a wonderful reputation for it's distinctive fine wines. And included in the price of the property is a partial share of the vineyard and winery operation. Now that's the kind of deal that you could only dream about in the U.S.
Another most popular presentation with a regional focus was from IL Panama representative, Mandy Faircloth. During her presentation I learned of two brand new releases never before presented to the public. Grupo Loft, one of Panama's premiere development companies, is building both Panama City waterfront condo projects. The Emerald in Marbella (center city) is close to restaurants, clubs, and shopping and starts at $120,000. The Dupont in Punta Pacifica (two minutes from MultiCentro, three minutes from the Johns Hopkins hospital, seven minutes from the airport) is priced at $1,200 per square meter. Apartments start at around $500,000. These grand luxury apartments are in the most up and coming part of the capital.
AN EXCITING NEW COASTAL DEVELOPMENT IN BELIZE
When it comes to "bang for the buck" Orchid Bay was one of the most captivating places that I saw today. This is a unique and brilliantly planned development that in an area hardly touched by development. It's been undisturbed by farming or settlement since the Mayan era. Developer Phil Hahn told me that he planned this development to take advantage of and respect the history of the area. I saw the design and it clearly shows. Phil is steeped in philosophy of classical architecture. As chairman of the national education committee of the American Institute of Building Design, he's been a driving force behind the nationwide effort to create a university-level degree curriculum for residential design.
He brought in Alvin Holm, the architect behind the New 19th Century Galleries in the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art to bring his innovative ideas to fruition.
He told me. "Our intention here was to organize a development expressive of the diverse Belizean traditions both ancient and modern, incorporating Mayan iconography along with 18th-centuryBritish town planning concepts and contemporary environmental awareness using the latest in technology."
This is the first place that Phil has shown his plans and the pricing is super attractive. Cottage lots start at $45,000 and most all of the lots -- including the ones with the best views -- are still available.
