Dear International Living Reader,
There’s something very important that your broker isn't telling you about your retirement account: You're no longer stuck with volatile, overvalued stocks for your retirement funds. Instead, you can buy individual properties, in the U.S. or abroad. And that includes everything from raw land to condos, single-family homes, and apartment complexes.
Contrary to what you have probably been told by your broker or banker, you can own real estate in your IRA, including non-U.S. real estate in places like Mexico, Panama, Italy, and elsewhere. Over the years, advisers have wrongly convinced many people they cannot own real estate, as well as a number of other alternative investments, inside their IRAs or other retirement plans.
As well as real estate, you can use your IRA to open a brokerage account in a foreign country or buy gold bullion and other precious metals.
In this important free presentation recorded May 2008, Richard Luchsinger (CPF) tells you how to do this all this and more. Richard is currently the associate director of Sovereign International Asset Management Inc., overseeing offshore investments, asset protection planning, and IRA real estate purchases. He has arranged IRA real estate purchases for clients all over the world. This recording was made in Cancun, Mexico, where Richard recently met with a group of International Living readers.
