The Biggest Kick I Get

Date: 04/06/2008

Sunday, April 6, 2008
Mérida, Mexico

About twice a day, somebody says to me, “I wish I had your job.”

There are times when I’d gladly give it to them…but those times are few and far between. There are a lot of great things about being the publisher of International Living. I get to write every day about interesting people, places, and things around the world…which means I get to meet those people, travel to those places, and do those things.

But the biggest kick I get out of this job has to be hosting our conferences and seminars.

Those of you who have attended one of our conferences or seminars in Panama, Nicaragua, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Spain, Mexico, or some other beautiful location know what fun they can be. Where else can you spend three or four days in Paradise, learning from and networking with the best minds in global lifestyle and investing options? Not to mention the quality pool/beach/lounge time with other event attendees, who are, in my opinion, some of the most interesting and adventurous people on the planet.

Right now I’m getting really worked up about our first major event of the year: the 2008 Ultimate Event in Cancún, Mexico. This is the big one, the one we throw everything at… All our best international finance, investment, real estate, business opportunity, and lifestyle gurus will be there on the achingly beautiful sugar-sand beaches of the Fiesta Americana Resort on Cancún’s famous Hotel Zone.

For four days, May 28–31, it will be sun, sea, food, drink, and more valuable and actionable information on how to live and prosper overseas than you can shake a stick at.

And I get to host the whole thing.

That part of my job I wouldn’t trade for the world. Because, in my humble opinion, International Living mounts the best conferences and seminars in the business, and I get to attend every one.

So unless you’re an astronaut, a professional French wine and Italian pasta taster, or a famous folk singer, don’t even bother trying to get me to trade jobs with you…not with our 2008 Ultimate Event coming up.

The only thing I can think of that comes close to the kick I’ll get out of hosting this conference would be coming as an attendee and not having to work at all…just relaxing and soaking up all the info, leads, practical advice, and good companionship there by the incredible turquoise waters of the Mexican Caribbean.

If you’ve already registered for the 2008 Ultimate Event, good for you. I’ll see you there. We’re going to have a big time.

If you haven’t registered yet, don’t wait too long. We already have more than 200 confirmed reservations for this shindig. I don’t know where our Events folks will cut off attendance, but I hope it’s not before you lock down your spot. Get more information on the third annual International Living Ultimate Event.

Best regards,

Dan Prescher
Publisher, International Living

P.S. For the next four days, I want to make you a special offer.

As part of this year's Ultimate Event, we’re having a special optional dinner on the evening of May 27, the night before the conference begins. Lee Harrison, Steenie Harvey, Suzan Haskins, Jessica Ramesch, and I will all be at this special kick-off dinner. We’re looking forward to it as a great way to start getting to know our Ultimate Event attendees.

So for the next four days, you’ll be hearing in your daily Postcards from Lee, Steenie, Jessica, and Suzan about what they’ll be bringing to the table for the 2008 Ultimate Event…and about what they’ll literally bring to the table for the optional dinner party. (Hint: Steenie Harvey is involved, so booze would be a safe bet.)

Here is the offer: Sign up for the Ultimate Event via one of this week’s Postcards from Lee, Steenie, Jessica, or Suzan, and we’ll not only pay your way to the optional dinner…we’ll also save you a seat at the table of your favorite Postcard writer.

For example, sign up for the Ultimate Event from this Postcard, and you have a seat reserved for you at my table. Sign up via Lee’s Postcard this week, and sit at his table. Sign up via Steenie’s Postcard, and you’ll be sitting with her. Jessica and Suzan, same deal.

However, you’ll have to wait to read their Postcards this week to find out what kind of extra adult beverage enticement they’ll be pouring at their respective tables. I don’t even know that yet.

I do know that I’ll be bringing some of the best tequila on the planet with me and pouring it for my tablemates…as if you needed any incentive other than my sparking personality.

Simply call 1-866-381-8446 (toll-free from the U.S. and Canada) and say “dinner with Dan” to sit with me, for free, at our optional kick-off dinner on May 27.

Or wait to sign up and sit with Lee, Steenie, Jessica, or Suzan.

See you in Cancún!
