First-Ever Wellness Week in Vallarta at a Most Opportune Time

Date: 08/29/2007

Remember that series of e-mails you received last week about our upcoming Live and Prosper in Mexico seminar in Puerto Vallarta September 23-25? You were encouraged to shout "tequila" to our customer service representatives who answer phones and register our readers for this event. Doing so, we told you, would entitle you to a free bottle of tequila when we meet next month in Puerto Vallarta.

Maybe it's Really Good for US

In 1930, a Spanish influenza epidemic attacked northern Mexico, and tequila was the preferred method of treatment-the best medicine to fight it. (It's said that from then on, it was drunk with lemon and salt because that's how doctors prescribed it).

That offer is still on the table. But you'll be happy to know that if you end up on top of or under the table after our tequila imbibing, you'll be able to avail yourself of "Wellness Week."

Yes, after eating and drinking our way through breakfasts, lunches, dinners, cocktail receptions, and decadent coffee breaks, we'll be able to find out just how bad our wicked ways are. And how to fix all that bad stuff we've done to ourselves.

From Sept. 22-29, Health Travel Guides is hosting the first-ever Wellness Week in Vallarta-with an emphasis on, among other topics, how Mexican foods can keep you healthy. (Exactly which food group is tequila in, I wonder?) During food and nutrition seminars you can find out which Mexican foods are good for your health, and what the calorie count and fat intake are for some of the most popular fare. Learn about healing foods and what to ingest (besides tequila, I suspect) to boost your energy levels.

There will be yoga workshops to help improve our minds and spirits. (By spirits I doubt they mean tequila.) And a host of workshops and information will be provided about weight control, skin care, cancer preventatives, and cosmetic enhancement. (Doesn't everyone look better after a little tequila?) Physicians and dentists will be on hand to offer treatments and advice.

This is a firsthand opportunity to learn more about health travel-a concept that is taking the world by storm right now. Mexico offers top-quality options in this regard and if you stay in Vallarta a few days after our conference, you can learn all about them.

Wellness Week, open to the public, will take place at Flamingos Villa del Palmar Resort and Spa. There is no charge for attending any of the many seminars and workshops presented by an impressive roster of speakers. Learn more about Wellness Week here.

P.S. I remind you that I have convinced our conference director to kick in a lot of freebies for this Live and Prosper in Mexico event. He's paying the first-night hotel accommodation at the Fiesta Americana for everyone who attends the conference. And he is paying for everyone's dinner one night…and he has agreed to a random drawing in which one lucky attendee will get their four-night stay at the Fiesta Americana Hotel during the seminar paid for- FREE. And yes, say "tequila" when you call and register, and you'll receive a free bottle of one of Mexico's finest tequilas. This is gonna be fun…
